“Steel Sculptures Abound in East Otto!”
Since the early 60′s, the steel sculptures of Larry Griffis, Jr. and other international artists have been residing in the woods, fields, and even ponds of Griffis Sculpture Park. The 450 acre Ashford Hollow park, located eight miles outside of Ellicottville, is not only a tremendous regional attraction, but holds the distinction of being one of America’s largest and oldest sculpture...
So cool and neat!! Definitely worth the out-of-the-way drive! Bring cash. They have a drop box for their "honor system" payments. They ask $5/person and it's worth every bit of it. We did the short loop because it was getting dark. If you go after a good rain, plan for wet paths and a little mud (where the right shoes). Roadtrippers get's the address from their website, but if you can't find it with that one, use the one from Google... 6902 Rohr Rd, East Otto, NY 14729.
Nice, peaceful place set in the woods. Plan for an hour of hiking to visit every sculpture. Admission is $5 at the front office; the honor system is used. Address listed by Roadtrippers is incorrect and should read 6902 Rohr Rd., East Otto. The coordinates used for the RT navigation is incorrect also. Trail is very dewey and mushy in some spots, dress accordingly.
Such a cool and beautiful park to explore. The sculptures are really awesome and offer plenty of photo opportunities. It's almost impossible to go here without coming away with a dozen photos of the sculptures. Fall is my favorite time to go, with a warm cup of coffee or hot cider in hand.
Very cool! We did not have time to explore it totally, but it was a lovely area to explore for whatever amount of time you had. It was a bit muddy and buggy, so bugspray is recommended. But I could imagine it being a fabulous place for a picnic, especially around the pond!
The sculpture park is beautiful! It's worth stopping by and looking at the cool sculptures along the trails. There is a nice variety of sculptures in a really nice area. It's a hidden gem in nowhere New York.
There are sculptures throughout the park.its a walking trail so wear comfy shoes.
