“where Africa towns begin”
Dabls African Bead Museum is one of Detroit's treasures. It is a living artwork reflecting the soul of the city made of mostly outdoor installations. MBAD African Bead Museum founded by Olayami Dabls in 1994 strives to encourage the community to tell their own stories through art , music, storytelling and dance by sharing the wisdom of African culture. We are a major repository for African artifacts, including sculptures, textiles, pottery, and bead works dating back hundreds of years, from countless cultures throughout Africa. We offer guided tours of the outdoor installations by Olayami Dabls. We look forward to see you!
