Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 17, 2022We parked between two old locomotives that are displayed along with a caboose in the parking lot. It was a quiet spot with only 3 other campers even though the county fair was going on.
There is an awesome old car museum along with the old prison. There is a little ice cream shop on the grounds that sells hand dipped ice cream. There are some other interesting looking shops across the street.
The lot is gravel and pretty level where we parked.
This is a nice stop. Wish we would have had time to do more here!
No amenities here. Dry camping only.

The lot is spacious and fairly level. There were 2 trailers, a 5th wheel and a skoolie the night I stayed.
If you stay, pay the $18 for the Old Montana prison and Auto museum. I was pleasantly surprised by both!! So glad I stayed here.

Came in the dark and were surprised to see we were the only RV staying overnight. We parked parallel to the bush wall with a travel trailer and truck. The night was very peaceful with a slight lulling sound from the nearby creek. The Auto Museum opened at 10am, but they opened early. The $14.50 entrance fee was well worth it. There were antique vehicles that we hadn't seen before. Wonderful experience!

I both called ahead and checked with the gift shop clerk- was told okay to park overnight. Nice level gravel area between two large locomotives - perfect wind break. Looks out over a small river.

Large, level parking lot between two locomotives and a caboose that provide a bit of privacy from the road. There were two other rigs there along with ours and definitely room for a few more. There was a bit of road noise until after midnight on a Saturday night but once it calmed down it was a peaceful night in downtown Deer Lodge a mile or so off the interstate.

Museum is right on the main drag into town, turn left on Crowley just before the "castle" jail building and curl around to park between the train cars. Level gravel lot. Nearby Frontier Museum, car museum, antique store, ice cream shop and other businesses further into town (we didn't explore). Nice stop over on the way west to Spokane (4hrs).

Stopped here to overnight on our way to I-15 south. Pulled in late in the evening and parked on level pavement right next to an old GE locomotive next door to the old prison. There was a vacant log adjacent to the train museum with some other RVs parked but was not leveled. This was just a parking lot so no services although you’re in the middle of town (Deer Lodge). So there are plenty of places to eat and to get fuel. There is a paved walking path along the creek. I-90 business loop runs right by so there is some light road traffic. Overall it was a good place to overnight.

This is a spacious RV parking lot for an Old Montana Prison and Auto Museum. In the middle of a small town with coffee shops and grocery stores. Also super close to the Grant Kohrs Ranch, National Historic Site.

Everything was great until a trailer ran his generator all night for his cpap machine, instead of a portable power station.
We all had to listen to it.
I felt bad for the gentleman who lives in the house next to the lot. If he has to listen to that all the time. Not sure why he didn't call the police about the noise.
