Staff was very helpful and dog friendly. I wouldn't suggest visiting during the hot months if you do not have AC. They do not have any trees for shade coverage or a pool onsite. The river was very small. We did not stay the night and kept driving on as it was 97* outside and we did not have any AC in our pop up trailer. The town seemed like fun and would have been nice to explore.
A great place to stay the night. The manager was outstanding and the views of the creek were great.

We wanted something a bit away from I-90 so we chose the KOA. Since we were planning to be there on a Friday and Saturday night I reserved in advance but wouldn’t have needed to unless a pull-through site was important. The pull-through sites filled up each night but the rest of the campground only had a few campers. The owners checked us in and were super friendly. We got a nice back-in site on the Clark Fork River and had fun watching birds and fishermen floating by on the river.
The KOA is close enough to walk to the center of town and only 0.7 mile from the Old Montana Prison Museum and Auto Museum which made for an interesting afternoon visit.
Our site had only electric (50/30) and water hookups. There is a dump onsite which is free for registered guests and $5 for non-campers. This KOA does not have a laundry.

We stayed just one night to break up a long trip. The RV park was clean, staff was very nice, let us pick our spot for the night and helped us back in and get settled. Lots of full timers here if that bothers you but it was very quiet and tidy - I hardly saw anyone else moving about the park. Pretty pricey for a partial hookup but we were directly on the creek - so understandable that there was no septic hookup. Just a note that we have a 21 ft camper, so no issues getting in and moving about but the RV park was TIGHT. Like tighter than I have ever witnessed. If anyone had been next to us, I'm not sure that I could have exited the camper and not touched their camper with our door. Definitely an awning would not have worked - luckily, we stayed on a Sunday night and there were plenty of empty spaces and we had a quiet sleep and enjoyable stay.

We originally had a site in the middle which had full hookups but they are cramped! Luckily they had a few empty spots next to the river which we took and they only have electric and water but there’s someone on-site that was able to dump our tanks mid week which was nice. There’s a huge grassy area to walk your dog and a small fenced dog area as well. This is perfectly located just a short walk to downtown and what a cool little town Deer Lodge is.

We stayed at this campground for a couple nights, and considered leaving early. First off it's recently gone under new ownership and the guy seems pretty nice, so I imagine things will improve over time. The site we were originally booked for was a pull-through with full hookups. The site faced the back end of several dumpy houses, so my wife asked to relocate us. We ended up moving to the river side which didn't have septic. At sunset the sites were swarmed with literally hundreds of salmon flies. We made the best of it. We explored the town shops, and toured the historic ranch. I'm sure the place will improve, but in the current condition we wouldn't stay there again. The bathrooms didn't have working exhaust fans so if you go in to take a shower after someone took #2, it was unpleasant to say the least.
