On our way to NC we decided to make a detour to Amicalola Fall. We are so glad that we did. The waterfall is amazing just as it shows in the picture. Lots of hiking possibilities and lots of picnic areas. We will definitely stop by again.

The view from the top is amazing, we go here a couple times a year its in our backyard. Great place to hike the falls with your family or If you cant hike there is a side road you can drive to the top.

Be sure to check the calendar before heading out to Amicalola Falls to see what Ranger programs are available during your visit. We attended a ranger talk once, featuring several owls. It was informative and fun, and the kids loved it. They also have programs on hiking, snakes, and more.

Not only did we get to see the breathtaking falls, but we also did archery. They have a small course for you to go through where you aim for 3-D target animals. They explain everything ahead of time in case you've never done it. You need a reservation, and you can inquire in the visitor's station. As far as the falls, walking down to at least one platform is worth it! If you think you can make the stairs, do it! You will be glad you did.

The falls are breathtaking! There are staircases that allow you to view the falls from top to bottom and everywhere in between. Along with the water fall there are beautiful hiking trails. Visiting this fall is an amazing experience, you will meet people from all over the country hiking the Appalachian trail.
