Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on October 03, 2021We stayed at Custer Mountain for the month of July. It was a very nice place with lots of pine trees. They have many cabins for non rv'ers, and several full hookup sites for rv's. The staff is great and the place is clean. It has access to the Mickelson Trail system, and is just a couple miles from the Custer State Park west entrance. Convenient to all the Black Hills! They can accommodate big rigs as well. Good cell coverage and wonderful scenery.

Stayed 3 nights in July. Great location as base to see the area and relax. Most sites have great shade from tall pines. Can be a bit dusty and roads are a bit rough but that keeps traffic slowed down. People in office were nice. Park looks well kept And there are also cabins that look nice and a ton of tent camping spots. We have a 30’ 5th wheel and there were big rigs there as well. Would definitely stay again.

Wooded and friendly environment.
Site: Not level. Needed lots of finessing to get close to level. Site backed right up to a fantastic hiking path.
Location: So much to do and see within 15-30 min. Restaurants, groceries, and gas stations all within 5 minutes.
Wifi: Had trouble connecting to the park provided WiFi.

We camped at Custer Mountain for 2 nights. It is super close to Custer State Park and to the town of Custer. It's a friendly campground with good owners and enough room between campsites to be comfortable. We have a 20 foot TT and had no problem leveling it. The restrooms are clean and the laundry area is roomy and clean. Our site backed up into the woods between the campground and the highway. There was no road noise at all and the view out our back window was pretty. We would stay here again.

This was a great stop right next to Custer State Park for us to explore the Black Hills area and get some nice showers in with full hookups. There are laundry facilities on site, and the hosts were very kind and attentive to our questions. The sites were very well maintained. Most people it seemed use this as a sleeping point to go out and do their adventuring, so while there were many other rigs around, it was very quiet around the campground.

First time at Custer Mountain CG. We spent 5 days in early Oct.. Fall colors were great. Far enough off of highway that noise was not a problem. Had a fire every night. Sites are gravel and fairly level. Sites 1 thru 4 are a little close together. Bath house was clean. The laundry room was very nice, with 4 washers and 4 dryers and a folding table. Far enough out of town but not so far that you can't do a quick trip in. Close to Custer State Park

We've camped here 3 times in the last couple years and this is by far our favorite. The campground is very clean and well kept. Friendly and accommodating staff. Just a couple miles from the entrance to the park.
Nicely wooded sites as well.

We stayed for two weeks and had a wonderful time. I got 3-4 bars of Verizon and was able to work and stream with no issues. They also have wifi but I never checked to see how good it was. The views are great, it’s close to everything we wanted to see, and the staff was really great to me and my family. We have a 41’ 5th wheel and we were in a back in site with no problems. I don’t think every spot would fit us though. We’d definitely stay again. Such a great park and beautiful area.

Loved this campground. Clean and the people were friendly. Emily was amazing as our guide.
We loved this campground! It’s basic...there is no pool or playground etc...but it is surrounded by national forest and is absolutely beautiful. We weren’t there much so it worked out perfectly for us. They have full hookup and electric only sites as well as tent sites. It seemed that most people were able to level well except on site 6(i think)...it seemed that site was very backward sloping and there was a leveling issue. We were in site 3 and we leveled just fine. It was soooo quiet! The bath house is nice and clean. We will definitely stay here again.
