Situated in an open Ponderosa pine forest 6.5 miles west of Custer, South Dakota, Comanche Park Campground is a nice setting for visitors seeking recreation and relaxation in the Black Hills National Forest. The campsites are spacious. Towering pine trees provide shade, though campers will find some sites offer little privacy from neighbors. Traffic noise from a nearby road can be heard. Comanche Park Campground has sites able to accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. The campground is equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, vault toilets, and drinking water; however, electrical hook-ups are not available.

Loved this campground. It is a little off the beaten path but that's exactly what we wanted. Camp hosts were super nice. We stayed 2 nights and made the 20 min trip down the road to Wyoming (just to say we were there), and then on to the Crazy Horse Memorial and Mount Rushmore. Our site was covered in Safe. Smelled so good! No showers but plenty of bathrooms. Very clean. Close to caves and plenty of trails. Will definitely go back!

Great campsite in the pines. No showers, but clean outhouses and many water spouts. Perfect place to camp if your going to Jewel cave because it's about 5 minutes away by car.

Beautiful campground, sites are spread out, and the sparse trees allows for a great view of the night sky. The camp attendant was very nice and considerate, can't wait to make my way back there. We spent one night there on our way to Yellowstone and would happily stay at Comanche campground again!!
