“enjoy this fairy-tale setting”
Welcome to our Cross Plains Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast. As we approached our new country home which later became the Enchanted Valley Bed and Breakfast, we shed the whirl of noisy traffic from our ears. We had bought our piece of heaven and discovered at the closing that three generations earlier, Marcia's great, great, great grandfather Peter Kessenich lived in this very spot. The Enchanted Valley Bed and Breakfast nestles in five acres of wooded land with flower gardens and open fields with panoramic views of the rolling hills and valleys of rural Cross Plains. Because Enchanted Valley is minutes from Madison or Spring Green, you enjoy the best of both worlds--a quiet country setting between one of the most beautiful cities in the United States and the home of world renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, also Marcia's hometown. During her childhood, Marcia saw Mr. Wright in downtown Spring Green and she believes that her friend from whom they bought Enchanted Valley had built the house to incorporate his concepts of arranging space to harmonize with the natural environment. Window walls and cathedral ceilings incorporate structure with nature and body with soul. Enjoy the sauna and immerse yourself into the bubbling air-jet whirlpool with soothing and healing water infusions, such as Young Living Essential Oils before falling asleep and again the next morning as you contemplate last evening's dreams while you slept in your queen-sized soft down, yet supportive bed. When you open the patio door of your bedroom, breath fresh country air and hear the night sounds of birds and other wildlife. Step into the adjoining window-walled library and entertainment room and write about your dreams to better understand and remember them. The crackling fire of the open wood-burning fireplace warms your soul as well as your body. Browse our collection of books emphasizing our special interests such as mindfulness and spirituality with Thich Nhat Hanh, Sharon Salzberg, Ekhart Tolle and Marianne Williamson (A Course in Miracles); counseling, naturopathy, gardening, history, birding and writing. Ken and Marcia have just published a civil war story entitled Men of Iron: Stories of the Civil War in Their Own Words.
