“Ancient Dunes make Modern Wetlands!”
The Tolowa Dunes State Park is a unique wetlands habitat covering 4,000. This diverse landscape includes an ancient sand dune complex, forest, ocean beach, river and wetlands. The Lake Earl Coastal Lagoon, provided habitats for tens of thousands of birds. The park offers over 27 miles of hiking, biking, equestrian trails, 11 miles of open beach and undeveloped shoreline. Primitive camping facilities, including equestrian campsites, are available. However the campground is closed until further notice.
