There are a few ways to get to the park, but definitely check their website because some are not RV friendly. And even the ones that are can cause some anxiety. The nearest town is about 15 miles away, so pack accordingly, but they do have laundry and a great clubhouse. The sunsets and mountain views are fantastic!

We're not typically fans of private parks, preferring instead to stay at state and federal campgrounds where we can have lots of space and enjoy nature. However, after several different people recommended this park, we decided to give it a try. I was a little hesitant after reading some reviews that mentioned the sites were close together. But when we arrived and saw the wide strips of grass and mature trees surrounding each site, my fears melted away.
We were immediately made to feel welcome by the hosts and invited to join in the nightly gatherings and events. The sunsets from atop the ridge overlooking the Blue Ridge Mtns were spectacular, and hiking trails in the park scenic.
Outside of the park there are endless activities including several wineries, lots of hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and of course, Friday Night music in the cute little town of Floyd.
A few things to keep in mind if you visit:
- The park is in the mountains. Be sure to check the park website for directions so your GPS doesn't try to take you on a route that you really shouldn't drive with an RV. Keep in mind that all the roads are narrow with twists and turns. We were not at all bothered by this, but if you are the nervous type of RV driver you might not enjoy it.
- The closest grocery store is about 20 minutes away in the town of Floyd. It's a small store. You'd be better off bringing groceries with you.
- The cell service (both Verizon & AT&T) went in and out. Most of the time Verizon was fine, but at times it didn't work at all. The park has free WiFi that worked great during our stay. But we were told that when the park is full it's pretty slow.
- The park is for Airstreams only. They have a pretty strict policy about this.
We ended up loving this park and had a great time exploring the surrounding area and getting to know the shareholders and guests. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again the next time we find ourselves in the area.

The share holders of this park do a wonderful job of maintaining the grounds and the clubhouse. This park is perfect for relaxing as there will never be any crowds here do to its small size. The hiking paths are shaded and beautiful. Some sites have picnic tables. Each site has a shade tree but some are big and offer lots of shade and some small.
Negatives:
-Each site has a light near the road that is left on all night which inhibits star gazing and for FB's without blackout curtains can be not great. The light is only a couple feet off of the ground so most may not be bothered by it. (This is the only reason I gave the Site Quality a 4 star instead of 5)
-Pet exercise pens or not allowed on any area of the grass only the concrete pads.

Reservation is relatively easy, this is a shareholder campground where the shareholders take turns being the host. We left a voicemail and they got back to us within the day to confirm our 2-night stay. We used google/maps to get here and had no issues but apparently some folks have had GPS direction problems. It is seemingly in the middle of nowhere but we love it that way. Nearby towns include Floyd, which is a great little town with lots of folk/bluegrass music going on nearly every night. Blacksburg/Christiansburg are nearby cities with all the stores you would expect.
The campground is well maintained with absolutely beautiful, the sunset views are breathtaking. The other campers were friendly and helpful when it came to Airstream-specific advice.
The sites are FHU minus cable. Wifi was weak and 4G network was pretty skimpy so plan accordingly. The clubhouse was nice and they have activities throughout the week that pass through campers can participate in. No showers but they did have laundry facilities and it was cheap.
We will definitely stay again!

VHH is a great little spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains. With only 46 spots it is quaint and quiet, and best of all, all Airstreams. The hosts were always friendly and accommodating of needs, as well as hosting happy hours and game nights. The shareholders really have a great little community here. Clubhouse is available for laundry, movie borrows, socializing, etc.
Several hiking trails are available on the property and the towns of Floyd and Roanoke are close enough to get groceries, gas and other entertainment. Wifi is fast and free!
Each spot has a concrete pad and all sites are level. Sunset is amazing each night and we would definitely come here again.

This is hands down one of my favorite places we've stayed. It is the most relaxing, beautiful place centered around an expansive mountain view.
Pros:
• Neighborhood feel — happy hours, group dinners, people know your name, wave and get to know each other. We met so many good friends here!
• About 15 minutes from downtown Floyd, VA which is the coolest little mountain music town. They have a Jamboree every Friday night where locals come and play bluegrass in the streets. And they're so GOOD! Also the Floyd Country Store has live music and people — and the best peanut butter pie ever!
• Beautiful views! People really celebrate the view here. Sunrise and sunset are events.
• Some sites have awesome decks behind them that you can use
• Friendly hosts and people
• Happy hour — there is a red chair at the host's camp site and if it's turned upright there is happy hour that day! :-)
• Awesome trails on the property — one with a waterfall
• Good cell signal
• UPS delivers — it's pretty cool getting Amazon orders on a mountain top
• Almost every site has a great view
• Beautiful country roads with minimal traffic for biking
Cons:
• The drive to "town" for groceries was a bit long, you didn't want to forget anything (but there is a Dollar General near in case you do)

I can't say enough nice things about Virginia Highland Haven! Upon arrival we were greeted so warmly, all the people were fantastic, and I can't even begin to rave about all the musicians among the members and guest! It was truly a magical evening for us. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!
Next time we are definitely staying for a bit!
BIG TIP! Go up 221 to get there, it's a much easier trip then 653 (Shawsville Pike) which is were your GPS might tell you to go..
