Yellowstone was full but we found this campground just outside the gate no electric but they have water to fill jugs pit toilets were clean trash cans and bear box at every camp site.

NF campground, limited spaces and levelness, but very doable when coming to or from the Park. Very nice hosts and a good port in a storm. Remember, you're in the heart of grizzly country so follow the run]les for everyone's sake including the bears.

Nice NF campground with close access to Cooke City and NE part of Yellowstone NP . Great sites , some acommadate bigger rigs. Good host . Cooke City is cute town with excellent visitors center that has wifi. Very enjoyable . No tents here due to potential bear activity.

I camped here with a 26’ Class C RV for 5 nights beginning of July 2021. Site #10. This is a wonderful small “first come, first served” campground close to Cooke City (~ 3 miles). The hosts - Barb and Mike - are very friendly and caring.
There is no dump station, but one of the potable water outlets has a thread for hoses and can be used for refilling RVs.
No cell service on the campground - but plenty of places with Wi-Fi in Cooke City, i.e. at the Visitor Center (network: chamber; password: silvergate).
I hiked the “Lady of the Lake” trail which I liked very much. The trailhead can be accessed directly from the campground at site #18 (directly behind the site number post).
When I left the campground I went on the 60+ miles Beartooth Highway to Red Lodge - and this route is certainly one of the most beautiful roads I have ever been driving.

Colter campground, site 15, $20, Arrived 1:30, Thursday, 7-20, FCFS
Nice, gravel drive. Sites are nicely spaced and private. Beautiful landscape though our site wasn’t very shaded. Bugs were a bit bothersome, had to use spray during the day. Able to park both our Class C motorhome and Jeep. Crazy creek falls is about 5 miles down the road toward Billings. Otherwise not much to do around the CG. Camp host Barb paid us a visit to welcome us into the CG and let us know that there were grizzly bear sightings across 212 yesterday! Very nice! No cell service.
