Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on July 07, 2023This place is a joke. The roads driving to and from your site is like driving on craters of the moon. We actually had to change sites because there were "berms" on each side of the road that torqued our truck and 5th wheel too much. The turns are too sharp. The trees need trimming. The WIRES are too low. We actually ran into one on the way to the dump station. Our reservation said we had E/W AND sewer but there wasn't sewer.

We had the best camping experience at Eastern Slopes Campground thanks to the awesome staff and beautiful beaches! We made reservations online last year when we arrived on July 3rd and were checking in Dottie looked out the office window at our Class A RV and called Ellen over. They were concerned that our RV wouldn’t fit in the site we reserved. Ellen could see the panic on my face and assured me not to worry they would find us a site. The campground was sold to new owners in April 2023, and there were some issues like this with the previous owners’ reservation system. When they realized there were some issues with the old reservation system, they stopped taking reservations so that they would have some open for this type of situation. Ellen and Leighann jumped into 2 golf carts and headed out to find us a better site. A few minutes later they came back, and Ellen drove me around on a golf cart to see 3 sites. We might have been able to maneuver into the site we reserved but thanks to Dottie, Ellen, and Leighann we ended up in the best location in the campground, right on the beach, with a great view of the river. We could not have dreamed of a better site!
This campground has 2 beautiful sandy beaches on the Saco River! You can float from one to the other and walk back up to do it again. There was a lot of rain for several weeks in June, the water was high when we arrived but went down quite a bit while we were there to the point an adult could walk across the river with the water only coming up about waist-high. Perfect for kids to play, swim, etc.
All the sites are flat, some in full sun, some in shady areas. Lots of full hook-ups. The waterfront sites do not have sewer hook-ups but they offer an affordable honey wagon service and have a dump station. We had a good phone and internet connection with Verizon.
We had such a great time we reserved a week for next year and 2 other sites for the same week for family members. We can’t wait to go back.
Thank you again, Dottie, Ellen, Leighann, Scott, and the whole staff. See you in July 2024, Walter & Ed.
