Close to Lost Trail pass, NeMee Poo trail, Lewis and Clark trail, Continental Divide. Good fishing within camp. $6 price is with USFS Access Pass or $12 without. Quietness does come and go as it is close to Hwy 93 but for the most part it is quaint.

This seasonal national forest campground is very small yet packed with amenities. The campground is located on a narrow area of flat ground between US93 and the East Fork of the Bitterroot River. This means many sites back up to the creek, and the whole campground is within earshot (and easy walking distance) of the running river. The only noise issue is US93, particularly a loud bridge over the Bitterroot just south of the campground, but traffic almost completely dies down at night.
All sites are paved and relatively level, and quite a few will accommodate large rigs. Back-in site 3 (our site) faced the river and was rated for a 65 foot rig. Site 4 across the loop is a very large pull-through that would work for any large rig. Site 9 is a large and open site with two 50 foot parking lanes. Sites are reservable on recreation.gov. Our biggest issue is that most sites have enough trees that solar generation would be a challenge, and because of the late-summer fire bans generator use was prohibited after 1 p.m. Sites 4 and 9 seem to be the most open for solar. Water is available throughout the campground and there are clean pit toilets.
The campground is obviously well-situated for fishing in the river, and we saw several of our fellow campers haul in trout. There are also a number of trails in the immediate vicinity. The trailhead for Warm Springs Ridge is about half a mile up Medicine Springs Road, directly across 93 from the campground, and there is another trailhead at the end of Medicine Springs Road. We hiked up the forest service road 5727 from the campground to the Sula Peak fire lookout at 6,191 feet of elevation, for impressive panoramic views. We also used this campground as a base to visit the Big Hole National Battlefield unit of the Nez Perce Historic Park, about 30 miles away.
The nearest town with services is Darby, about 15 miles north along 93, which has gas stations and a few grocery stores. For us this was a bit of a temporary stopover but we ended up really enjoying our huge creek-side site, with the fairly dense foliage providing great privacy. The only downside was the complete absence of internet service on AT&T, even with our MIMO antenna. We did have service at the top of Sula Peak, giving us another reward for the hard uphill hike!

We needed a quick stopover for the night as we traveled between Salmon and Missoula. The park is small and well cared for (hosts are great and do a spectacular job on the grounds). If you need a field to practice your casting or play a game of football - this is the place. There is a HUGE mowed field between the sites and the river.
I think at least half the sites are reservable online, but after 2pm they are all open.
The Bitterroot River was running very fast when we passed through (heavy summer melt) and fishing wasn't the best there. There is a fishing platform as well as a few small areas you can walk down to the river. Lots of surrounding brush - so bring your roll cast.
Our spot was easy to level and lots of shade and easily accommodated bigger rigs (we are a 31ft Class A). Picnic tables at each site and grills. And LOTS of mosquitos - between the river and the watering of the grass you need to be coated with repellent.
We were able to fill the rig with water at a common spigot (no signs preventing filling RVs) and the water spigot was threaded.
Bathrooms are pit toilets and very clean.
Lots of road noise during the day, but dies out to nothing at night and you can hear the river, depending on which site you occupy.

Nice looking campground. Picnic table and fire pit at site. Vaulted toilets and water available. Mosquitoes galore at our site near the road. Didn’t notice them elsewhere on the grounds while walking around.

Nice designated dispersed National Forest site with a great camp host (Mike). Small with maybe 10 or 12 sites, with paved roads and pads, very clean pit toilets, lots of green lawns all on the banks of the East Branch of the Bitterroot River. Very clean and well maintained campground. I bought a fishing license online with our one bar Verizon signal and caught 4 trout, plus spent a few hours casting and relaxing. There is Route 93 road noise during the day, but traffic is nearly absent at night. Good spacing of the sites providing some privacy and plenty of shade.. On the East side of the river are huge steep cliffs where bighorn sheep roam, but we didn't see any during our 2 day stay. We would stay here again.

Stayed one night with family on our way home. Very nice sites along the river. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Sites were all paved and super clean. Entire campground is a reflection of a camp host that takes pride in his job! Only a couple FF sites so you better have reservation for weekend or holiday.

I paid for two nights but we only stayed one. It's a beautiful campground but loud truck traffic all night long that no site is further from. I got zero sleep. Mike is a great host and will come out and tell you which sites are available. There are two FCFS but he knows which other ones might be available for a night. Hubby went up the gravel road across the highway to Warm Springs CG. It is not quite as nice but no road traffic noise. Mike said it is supposed to be fixed up in the near future if water can be found, so it would be the better choice, IMO. There are bighorn sheep just up the highway. The river was a bit low for floating but good for fishing.
