“One Unforgettable Location Since 1900”
Step inside Zaharakos (Zuh-HARE-uh-koes) to find an ice cream parlor of stained glass, carved oak, and marble. Look for the Tiffany-style lamp and the double soda fountains. Listen to the rich, full sound of the Welte orchestrion. Learn about soda fountains and mechanical music when you visit the museum.
My son and I enjoyed our tasty, well portioned, mid cost lunches while listening to beautiful music. Ordering from the ice cream parlor is a must! It is gorgeous! And if that wasn't enough, there's also a small museum and gift shop/candy store, too! Tip: Prepare for street parking.
Beautiful place, very nostalgic. It was very quiet on Easter Sunday.
The ice cream, soda, and atmosphere are all excellent. You should absolutely stop here. However, the food is sub par, so stick to dessert. Enjoy!
Very cute, loved the vintage charm. Seating at the counter is first come first served, but you'll need to wait to get a table. the ice cream is delicious of course, and it's even made on site! We would definitely make it a stop again if we were back in Columbus.
This was a beautiful ice cream store.
I am so glad we stopped here. The food and the shakes were awesome. We had our dog with us and there were a few tables outside to accommodate us. Our waitress even stayed outside with our dog so we could all go inside and get a family picture! I wish we had more time in this town. There was a neat little Children's Museum that we would have loved to stop in. There was a nice indoor mall play area across the street for the kids to run off some energy while waiting on our food. This was a very nice town. It felt very welcoming and if I was looking for somewhere to live I would consider this place.
Cutest ice cream parlor and soda shop! So glad we stopped in!
Super cute place! Old building with lots of character and charm! Love the antique items they display all over the place. They have only time games and candy for purchase, which is a perfect touch- and have plenty of soda fountains on display. Ambiance is pretty cool. We only had ice cream there, and it was a good stop. The kids loved it. I didn’t give it a 5star rating because the service was not very friendly. We were not allowed to sit at the bar because it was shift change, but others came in and sat right down and they were served. It took a long time to get our server’s attention. Overall, we are happy we stopped.
This as a great stop and fun for all ages!
Neat place! The kids really liked it. Very “old-timey” feel to the place, and a lot of antique soda fountains and fixtures. Staff was really friendly, particularly considering how busy the place was. Food tasted great, and the desserts did not disappoint! Fun stop!
