I have been to many zoos in my life and for the price, this zoo is not bad at all. On top of animals there is also a gardens (plus trails across the bridge) that are fun to navigate and look in. The gardens themselves are beautiful and I would not mind hosting my own wedding there. The animals are very engaging and the staff seem very friendly. There is also wine tasting sessions and such there for adults on some nights. A word of caution, though, if you want to avoid a clamor of children and overcrowded exhibits in which the animals would rather hide than carry on as usual, then it is best to go when school and work hours are in session. Food is a bit pricey, also, so I would suggest packing a picnic or lunchbox.
In the botanical gardens, you’ll find Waterfall Junction — an awesome play area for kids that includes a dino dig, giant tree houses, and a splash pad. The gardens have been hailed by Horticulture magazine as one of 10 gardens that inspire and by HGTV as one of 20 great public gardens across America.
Small and clean zoo. We were able to see almost everything in a couple hours. Our local zoo had reciprocity with this one so we were able to buy tickets with a 50% discount. Lots of baby animals!
We love this zoo. It is great for all ages. My teenage sons loved it. We went on a Monday, so it wasn't very crowded. It is very shady. My sons loved that there were several interactive features. You can walk in with the kangaroos, feed the giraffes and feed the birds. To feed the birds and giraffes you have to pay an additional $2 per person. We also ate lunch at the restaurant. We were able to sit outside and watch the giraffes, zebras and ostriches. It cost around $65 for our lunch for four people.
SOOOOOOO much fun!! Not to crowded and plenty to do. The seals were a hit but monkeys howling at each other were my favorite. Lions, Tigers and Bears! Great Day
Cool zoo. We got there about an hour before closing, but still managed to see most of it. They've got a carousel, giant turtles, and flamingos.
This zoo has strong roots to my childhood and alot of memories. They have added alot more to the zoo over the years. I used to go swimming in the river next to the zoo every summer has a kid. Over all, its a great place.
