Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 21, 2017We scraped going in and out of this spot. We found out we needed to put wood under the tires to raise it enough so our bumper wouldn't scrape. It is a spacious site with enough room for two RV's (if you know each other). It was about 25 minutes to whitefish, 20 minutes to west entrance to GNP, and 7 minutes to Columbia falls (which has grocery store and regular shopping). We received some solar power here but no att cell service.
We gave it 3 stars because of the noise. On the weekend, it was very quiet and hardly any cars drove by. On the weekdays, it was extremely loud with semis driving past in the middle of the night.
We filled up our tanks with fresh spring water right off the road in about a half mile south of the campsite. We dumped at Sundance campground for $5.

We camped in a pull thru site about 2.5 miles from north fork rd. We have 21’ TT and the ground was pretty level. Looks like locals tent camp there often. A makeshift out house was built. There was also some trash left behind. After a little clean up it was perfect. Had cell service when the sky was clear. Takes time to get messages out if there was cloud cover. Can slightly hear traffic noise at night but not loud enough to keep us awake. This site has a small creek running through it and a small waterfall you can see from the road when driving up. We didn’t venture closer to take a look but may have a path to it.
Noticed about 7 sites when exploring. 3 Sites (1tent camp only) a little pass mile marker 1. The 1 pull thru site at about 2.5 miles. 2 more sites just over the bridge about 5 miles from N fork, and 1 site about 1/2 mile from those near another bridge. Very quiet during the week but picks up a little during the weekend with people looking to see if sites are open and bike riders.

I found this option late evening after driving around in the area a bit. It appeared to be similar to every other dispersed camping options I’ve used in a national forest in the past. However, at around midnight, I was woken up to headlights shining at my van and honking.
Even as of this writing, I’m not sure what the reason was — we weren’t within a mile of a campground (as far as I could see) or any other issue. Open to hearing from others if I’m off base as well :)
