Some sites are flatter than others. For 16 bucks a night, with a 14 day stay limit, this place is a bargain.

Quiet location, with periodic trains passing. Nothing that woke us up. No swimming, but the view was beautiful. Boat ramp available for fishing and lots of birds to see. Playground and grassy areas for walking and kids to run. Showers and flush toilets available and in good condition. Army Corp of Engineers run, all reservations are online currently. Host available but does not accept payment for spaces. Very nice guy!

Stopped here for a night on our way up to the Buffalo River area.
Great price. Electric only sites. Water and dump in the park.
We put the kayaks in at the boat launch. Lots of places to explore.
There is a railway very close to the campsites but it didn't bother us very much.
Good ATT LTE (2bars)

As others have said, a small COE campground on the Arkansas River with great views. I would rate it a 5 star if not for the drive thru non campers, all day and all night. Our site had 30amp electric & water hookup, dump station was available. There is a train track right next to the park, the noise from the trains didn't bother us or our pup. We would stay here again. We love all of the COE campgrounds. Low star rating on noise was from cars racing thru the park.

The campsite may be more because we were right next to the lake. We have electric hook ups but know water. They do have a dump with clean water before you go into the park. Park seems to be well maintain. They don't take cash so you will have to set up a log in. I have a pic below of there RSVP ONLINE SITE👍

This was an incredible camping location right on the water at Lake Dardanelles State Park. Quick overnight stop right off of I-40. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful. A train did go by a couple of times and there was a little traffic to the boat ramp. 30 amp electric with water. The space was huge and the park was laid out so well everyone had an exceptional view. Reservation made on Recreation.gov. I would definitely stay here again!

Not my favorite place. There’s a train track right by the park. A train goes by frequently and blows its horn at the road to the park. Very busy with people not staying at the park, probably because it’s a boat ramp so close to town. The bathrooms are not very clean. The pros: you can catch fish right off the shore (mostly cat fish). There’s a well stocked bait shop just down the road.
Most of the sites are level. Some sites have no connection to water.

This is a classic COE campground: Green manicured grass, beautiful lake, polite campers, a full canopy of trees, and very helpful hosts. The water isn't directly accessible at most sites because of a short, rocky cliff, but there are boat ramps at both ends of the campground.
The showers are just functional. They're pushbutton and don't appear to have any temperature control.
Two downsides. There are active train tracks about 50 yards away and a crossing, so train horns happen. We had 5-8 trains during the day/night. Also, most of the pads in A loop slope downhill significantly toward the lake, so front-to-back leveling will be a serious challenge.

This is an army corps of engineers park situated along the Arkansas river. I spoke with a couple of the local's there are largemouth bass here. Park had electrical hookups. Short distance from I40 just Farr enough away to make you feel like you got way off the freeway. Nice for a few days rest from traveling.
