“Know Your Food. Know Your Farmer.”
Green City Market is a nationally recognized marketplace model for distributing, promoting and educating about local sustainably-grown food.
Out of all the farmers markets I've been to, this place has a special place in my heart. Located near the Lincoln Park Zoo in the summer and inside the Nature Museum in the winter, Green City has the best of what the Midwest has to offer. It's an excellent place to stock up on pantry staples (beans, bread), fresh ingredients, and things you've never heard of. Not to mention-each and every farmer and purveyor is happy to help!
The city's largest farmer's market is filled with vendors hawking fruits, vegetables, grains, cheeses, sauces, preserves and baked goods, outside in Lincoln Park in the summer and indoors at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in the winter.
