“A free, family-oriented wildlife experience”
Founded in 1868, Lincoln Park Zoo is dedicated to connecting people with nature through a free, family-oriented wildlife experience. A conservation leader, the zoo exemplifies quality animal care and educational outreach.
Love the zoo, love Anana, but the habitats are too small for most. Love seeing the construction going on to fix this issue.
It's a pretty cool zoo, and it's free! It's in the middle of the park so it's a little startling to be walking around the trails and then before you know it you're inside looking at a tiger.
It's alright, there are some cool animals but the zoo is fairly small and the animals have very little space to roam (I realize this is an issue with pretty much every zoo in the world...but the size of the animal's dwellings particularly struck me at the Lincoln Park Zoo).
For a free zoo this place is awesome! My favourite spot was the polar bear exhibit at the far end of the zoo! It just swims around and plays with a big ball! You need to time it right (12:30 -2) and she will be very active!
What a great place. Free entry so a great visit for families on a budget. The park around the zoo has nice easy hiking and perfect places for a picnic.
Free admission $20 parking
This zoo was pretty cool. It's free, but it'll cost you $20 to park. So, that's how they get ya. But, honestly, parking in Chicago is horrific anyhow.
Went here in early August with my 9-month-old baby. He actually really enjoyed it. I strapped him into a bjorn and walked around. I would not recommend this. It would have been way better to have taken him in the stroller because the zoo is huge.
This is a great zoo, and I still can't believe that there's free admission. If we're on a long road trip, this is often the one stop we make while in Chicago. Lots of park benches to stop and look at the beautiful scenery too.
