“Called Chicago's front yard”

Proudly referred to as Chicago's "front yard," Grant Park is a public park, 319 acres located in Chicago’s central business district in the Loop Community area.  Grant Park’s most notable features include Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum Campus. Named for United States President and Civil War General, Ulysses S. Grant, Grant Park was developed as one of Chicago's first parks and expanded through land reclamation. The park was the focus of several disputes in the late 1800s and early 1900s over open space use. It is bordered on the north by Randolph Street, on the south by Roosevelt Road, on the west by Michigan Avenue and on the east by Lake Michigan. The park contains performance venues, gardens, art work, sporting, and harbor facilities. It hosts public gatherings, and several large annual events.

Grant Park is built with a Victorian character and works as the gateway to that era.

As soon as you enter the park's entrance you immediately relax and enjoy the well cared park facilities, flowerbeds and views of Galena.

Tucked in between the busy city center of Chicago, the park becomes a place for meditation for a great amount of people daily.

Great place to escape for a few hours.

A beautiful park. Great example of how a city can reclaim green space. Be sure to allow enough time to explore the entire area.

A sprawling park filled with beauty and incredible views of the skyline, Grant Park houses some of Chicago's finest gardens as well as largest communal gathering areas. Be sure and check out Buckingham Fountain and its gorgeous view of the lake next time you're strolling through.

Beautiful park, definitely go explore when the weather is nice. This is where Obama gave his acceptance speech in 2008. Super relaxing place to visit, way quieter than Millenium Park.

the gardens are a site to see on warm day in Chicago. A must-see for anyone visiting Chicago for the first time, make an afternoon of it and really take your time, there is a lot to see!
