“see how the Cherokee lived two& a half centuries ago”

This "living museum" is operated by the Cherokee Historical Association. Guides take visitors through the village explaining the history and culture of the Cherokee and also demonstrate the making of such items as arrowheads, baskets, and blowguns. Tour the authentic working Village with dwellings, residents, and artisans right out of the 1760's. Experience traditional medicine and interact with villagers as they hull canoes, make pottery and masks, weave baskets and beadwork, and participate in their daily activities. Enjoy live reenactments, interactive demonstrations, and Hands-On Cherokee art classes for kids. Open April 12- April 30, Closed Sundays and Mondays. 10am-3pm. Open May 2 - October 24, Closed Sundays. 10am-4pm. "Unto These Hills" Dates are as follows: May 28 - August 13. Closed Sundays

Didn't know much about Cherokee. It was eye opening and had a great conversation with the guide. Must place to go even for a traveler.

I think the best thing about this place is that it feels so authentic and genuine. There's always something to do or see, where it's a performance or a demonstration, and the guides are super knowledgeable and good with kids. Definitely buy something from the gift shop!
