JB Charleston AFB RV FamCamp

We could only get into the overflow lot but it was just fine! A nice level cement slab and we had full hookups. The wifi was slow but workable. It’s always fun to shop at the commissary & exchange. Took a 25 minute drive to Battery Park to take in the views and walk to a nice restaurant for lunch. Lots of dogs! 😊. We plan to return next year and stay longer to take in more of the wonderful things Charleston has to offer.

We stayed at Charleston Air Force Base FamCamp for the visit to South Carolina. The sites were nearly full when we arrived early in the morning. We were told someone was going to check out later that day and to take their spot once it was checkout time. That time came and went and the person hadn’t moved. Despite their best efforts, they weren’t able to get ahold of the seemingly immovable guest. They ended up giving us a different site which was a little tighter but seemed to fit our needs.

We were able to wash the truck and RV in our site for an addition $10 (water fee).

A thick wooded area gave us a lot of shade which was nice for the ambience, but didn’t help with a Starlink connection. Still we were able to use AT&T to connect, it just wasn’t a speedy connection.

We enjoyed staying here, the spots are perfect, nicely shaded and extremely level. Having said that, you are located across the street from the flight line on an active military base and those folks gotta fly, so you WILL hear jets at all hours.

Hands down best RV Park I've been to. One note. I couldn't book a reservation because they were full. Staff said just to show up we will find something. Arrived after hours and camp host found us a spot for the night. Only issue with this is base access. Only one lane was open and it was narrow. Made it just fine but a little tight. Starlink will work at a few sites. Overflow lot seems the best. Had over 100MB but latency was 50+ ms. Stream TV and work fine. Online gaming is glitchy.
