“A delicious Centerville staple”
Doubleday's was founded in 1991, the name stemmed from the inventor of baseball, Abner Doubleday. Originally Doubleday's was intended to be a sports bar with a restaurant atmosphere but has evolved in to much more of a family eatery. These differences have come through time and ownership change. The Thomas family gained ownership to Doubleday's in late 1997, at that time the focus of the restaurant's future changed. They set out to offer a higher quality and better value place to eat for Centerville and surrounding areas. The Golden Nugget Pancake House, a staple to Dayton for many years now, is owned and operated by the extended family ofthe Thomas's. Both family-owned establishments aim to please and have been successful for three generations now. We attribute the success at Doubleday's to our reliable hard- working staffs of managers and key employees who have been with us for years. The dedication of these important people have been vital to keeping our customers satisfied and helping produce the regular clientele which we are fortunate to have. We have enjoyed serving our loyal customers for a long time and hope to do so for many years to come.
