“perched in the rolling mountains of western North Carolina”
Mount Pisgah Campground is perched in the rolling mountains of western North Carolina along the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. Natural Features: Mount Pisgah is part of the Appalachian Mountain Range, an area of the country with scenery that never disappoints, whether blanketed in wildflowers in the spring or a bursting with orange, yellow and red hues in the fall. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a scenic byway that follows the high crests of the central and southern Appalachians for 469 miles from Shenandoah National Park in Virginia to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina. At an elevation of 4,980 feet, Mount Pisgah offers moderate to cool temperatures during camping seasons.

Why is it rated 1 star??
Private, beautiful, cheap and clean restrooms. Nuff said
This campground is right on the Blue Ridge Parkway and although the sites here are on the small side, most are very private and well taken care of. There are no hookups, but the facilities are well taken care of.
One of my favorite places to stay when around Ashville.
No cell phone signal

We had the pleasure of spending one great night at this campground and wish it was more! The shower facilities were very clean and updated. Our visit was on July 1 and the temp at night was in the upper 50s! So Nice!
The one thing we were worried about was bears, every park host and ranger we spoke with told us to be careful about the bears and out rat terriers were freaking out the whole time we were there.

Stayed here 5/27/2017 to 5/30/2017. Great place to car camp for a night or a few. We had no utilities, but still it was beautiful. Labor day weekend camping was a great way to cool off as it was at least ten degrees colder than the flat lands only 20 miles away.

We camped in our T@B teardrop trailer and have stayed here on three past occasions as tent campers. The campground is spacious with four camping loops. Loop A is for RVs, Loop B for vans and pop ups, and loops C and D are tent only. There are showers in loops B and C. Like most National Park facilities it is underfunded and has some deferred maintenance but nothing that detracts from a stay. Hiking trails start at the campground, and it is only a few miles to the mountain bike mecca of Brevard. During the day there was some motorcycle noise from the Blue Ridge Parkway but none at night. It was pleasantly cool at 5000 feet and we had the windows open. There are no hookups but there is a dump station at the entrance.
Recommended for those who want a quieter, old-style camping experience.

This is a National park service campground on the blue ridge parkway with paved sites carved into the mountain side. Three loops, rv, van pop up, and tent. A few sites for big rigs. Water and dump available but not at the sites. Ranger hut and camp hosts. Self check in after hours. Half price with the federal senior card. Excellent hiking trails. Amazing views. Across the road from the historic Pisgah Inn with a camp store restaurant and inn. Unlevel sites and only two showers. Free WiFi at park office and the inn. Verizon at the inn.

Elevation 5,000 ft! Great hiking nearby, but were socked in with fog at the end of September 2020.
Short walk to Mt. Pisguah Lodge/Restaurant/Camp Store: Coffee, No beer or wine (BOOOOO!)
Great campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway!
Thick vegetation provides privacy between sites.
Would definitely revisit.

The first of the BRP campgrounds you encounter when heading north. All sites are primitive with no hook-ups, but there's water spigots throughout and a dump station. This one also has flush toilets and a shower.
The sites are quite a mix here, with some very unlevel. We did first come first serve and selected site 13 for being fairly level, private feeling and having a whiff of Verizon signal (just enough to get basic work done, some streaming, but not enough upload capacity to video conference).
Most sites don't have much signal at all, best odds are choosing sites at the top of the two RV loops. Great signal is to be found across the street at the lodge and the overlook.
