On the west bank of the Madison River about 2.5 miles off the highway. Far enough that road noise is not an issue, partly because of the sounds of this world-famous trout stream. Set on the flats above the river the sites are near level. The surrounding area was a verdant green when we visited. A few bear boxes are available (for tent campers), and the USFS pit toilets were very clean. A wonderful stay.

We arrived in the night and the stars are AMAZING!!! When I woke at dawn to a gorgeous sunrise over the mountains surrounding us with a river I was speechless. A very special place.
