“on the banks of the Madison River!”
The Slide Inn is located on the banks of the Madison River, one of the most famous blue-ribbon trout streams in the world. Our 1,100 feet of river frontage provides some of the finest fly-fishing in Montana. During the beautiful days of Spring and Summer, you can literally step out of your cabin and catch some of the largest Rainbow and Brown Trout that inhabit the Madison. You can also get valuable fly fishing instruction from the best fly fishing guides on the Madison River. Fly fishing with streamers is a favorite tactic that our guides know well and you can find all the flies, and gear you need right here at the fly shop. In fact, The Slide Inn has one of the finest streamer selections in the country. The Slide Inn has three classes of beautiful river-front cabins 23 full hookup RV sites, and showers and laundry facilities for our guests. In our Fly Shop we offer everything you will need for your trip. Our guides are top notch, and will assure you the best day on the river possible. In the shop we have thousands of flies as well as products from St. Croix, Patagonia, Simms, Lamson,Scientific Anglers and many more.
We just returned from our guided float over 13 miles of the Madison River with Parker and had an absolute blast! This review is from a couple of Dallas, Texas based folks who don’t get to see much mountainous terrain so temper our review with that knowledge, but this area is just amazing. Kelly Galloup IS HERE and is very PRESENT in running the shop. It’s not just something he owns from afar.
The entire staff was very communicative for all my questions over email pre-stay. And very accommodating when we realized we would arrive for our RV spot after hours. “No problem, we can settle up tomorrow. You’re in space 5.”
In this day and age, that’s refreshing.
Parker, our fishing guide, was great with us as we were new to fly-fishing in general. But I know he has guided some well-known, very experienced fishermen/women as well and you wouldn’t know the difference in the way he treated us. It was a tough day of fishing this particular day...but we understood that it was for everybody we came across on the boat ramp and during the float trip.
We didn’t care...it was awesome.
The laundry room is on the honor system which, again, amazes me in this day and age. The view from the picnic table I’m using to type this review is stunning as well. People here are friendly, laid back, and just plain nice.
If I could give Slide Inn a 10-star review I would. So glad we found it on Roadtrippers. We won’t hesitate to come here again sometime.
You should try it yourself sometime too.
