Huge paved camp sites, fish cleaning tables, fire ring, table, grill what more could you ask for.

We were in the older loop. Great sites, all quite large and space between sites. Was not happy with the cleanliness of both bath houses in our loop, quite dirty.

This was our second time here. We stayed in campground 2. They have a lot of really nice sites most with water views. We stayed the end of August Sunday to Thursday. They start getting busy near end of week.
The 3 star for cleanliness is for the bathrooms they are not cleaned well. I am ok about them being old but no reason they are not taken care of.
That said I did love our site and would camp here again.

I’ve heard how great this State Park is. I agree. Finally made it camping with friends. We got about the only “double” site otherwise sites are very spread apart. Lots of privacy if that is what you like. Paved sites. Steps constructed all around sites. Nice walking paths and camp store. Good water pressure in bathhouse. Definitely stay again

Friends have always told us this was a nice campground so we decided to give it a try just for a quick weekend trip. And the fact that it is only a 45 minute drive from home why not. We didn't get a waterfront site since it was a last minute trip. Our site was nice and level, paved and backed up to a clearing that led over to the playground and bathhouse. We really liked the size of the sites and the fact that they were spaced very nicely, you were not on top of each other. It was very peaceful and since this lake is mostly for fishing there were not very many speed boats making a lot of noise. We have Sprint cell service we could talk and text with no problems but the internet was spotty at best. But hey we were there to relax. We will definitely be back here soon and often.

Even though it was not on the water it was a great site. We camped here once before back in the spring 2018. We loved it then as well. We never knew there was another part to the park, it's called DAY USE AREA. We thought ok probably a picnic area. We were so surprised! there are tennis courts, basketball courts and about 50 to 75 picnic table areas of which looked to be very rarely used at all. And to top it off the beach swim area was huge and the sand looked to have been brought in and spread, it was great with a volleyball net there to use. Perfect for the grandkids if we don't happen to get a waterfront site on our next visit. The park store is nice and has many necessities. This park is on Lake Russell which doesn't really allow homes to built really close to the water and almost no docks are allowed except at the marina. So you don't hear a lot of boat or jet ski noise. If you hear one it is someone camping on the lake or fishing. It's very peaceful. We will make this a regular trip. We found the perfect waterfront site and got it for next year for July 4th week. Site 15 is perfect pull through with great waterfront access and close to the bathhouse and playground. It goes fast though!
The only negatives about this park is the bathhouses are outdated and not the cleanest I've seen and have not fans for ventilation in the summer. And cell service for Sprint was pretty much non-existent.

Some sites have water views, but woods block view at many. Most were level to small incline.. Difficult to get clear view of the sky for satellite. Only 2 restaurants in Calhoun Falls. Library there has limited hours and WiFi. Once you have the password it is available 24/7 parked outside.
Only negative was arriving after 5pm there is no list of available sites posted at the office.

Took the family camping and with two little girls we had a blast. The swimming area was awesome if you have little ones. The store at the campground was clean and the people working were very pleasant. The bathhouse well it’s a bathhouse, not the worst I’ve been to. The camping pad is paved and is pretty level. Other than that the campgrounds were great to bring the family to enjoy the outdoors with.

We camped here in late May. The campground was fantastic. Sites were large spread out and our was right on the water. We bikes, hiked, kayaked and had an amazing time. I highly recommend this state park and campground. We loved it.
