The bad - sits right off route 3 which is very loud, very tight sites, about 8ft between campers.
Would not stay again.
So far we've stayed here three times. I'm sure we will be back again when we are in the St. Louis area. The RV park is ample for our needs and has plenty of room to park an RV pulling a trailer. The real draw for us is the restaurant on the property. Sawmill BBQ has the most mouth-watering BBQ you can imagine. Just think of the best BBQ you can imagine. Sawmill BBQ is way better than that.
This is a fairly nice RV park. We stayed here in our tent while passing through on our way out west. The old couple working the desk are really sweet. The pool is clean and the BBQ restaurant on the premises is grest (and you get a discount). This place isn't very secluded, but if you are looking for a place to look while visit St. Louis, this place is pretty nice.
Park sits just outside St Louis, across the Mississippi River. Able to take the St Louis bypass to get here so didn't get into traffic. Grass and Gravel, slab patio. level. clean showers. staff friendly and able to let you purchase arch tickets with $2 discount. a restaurant next to the property.
great wifi, didn't have to use my MiFi

Cahokia is the first RV park my wife and I stayed in after picking up our van in Saint Louis, Missouri. As such, it's also the first RV park either of us ever stayed in. Van City, St. Louis paid for our stay here so we could learn about our RV.
From a practical standpoint, the park provided us with everything we needed to test out our new vehicle/home. The park is clean and check in was easy. We didn't use, nor check out the laundry facilities. The pool was closed. The on-site barbeque restaurant provides good food.
The pad was gravel and flat. We had a full hook up site. Wi-Fi worked well enough to stream Netflix. Our neighbors were very nice and the park was relatively quiet for being so close to the city of Saint Louis.
There was an eclectic assortment of vehicles in the park and some long-term residents.
Driving into downtown Saint Louis was easy from here.

Perfect location for downtown St. Louis visits! Amazing staff/owners, cleanest restrooms I’ve ever seen at a campground (cleaned daily) office staff is friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Sites are well payed out to accommodate various sizes of RVS. The park is very clean and well worth the visit!

This park is so close to all the things we wanted to see in St. Louis. It’s a bit pricey. On top of that, they charged $6 for our son. There is a wonderful BBQ restaurant called Sawmill. Very good BBQ! The sites are gravel back-ins that are close together, and it was difficult to navigate into our space because of vehicles in the road. We had to ask someone to move their truck so we could get into our space. They must’ve had flooding recently because the west side of the campground was closed for repairs. The noise was surprisingly loud because it is right on a busy 4-lane highway. Motorcycles and trucks with Jake brakes all night and day.

This was our second time at Cahokia. The first time was during our "shake down" for our new van. Our dealer paid for us to stay at Cahokia for a couple of days while we became familiar with the workings of the RV. At that point, we had nothing with which we could compare.
The Mississippi River was well above flood stage not too long ago. It's been wet. The campground still has standing water, some of it was around our campsite. The gravel pad needed care. The grass needed mowing.
Now that we've been traveling for over 7 months we have a better understanding of the ends of the RV park continuum. Cahokia is fast moving in the wrong direction.
It has a few things going for it. Location to downtown St. Louis, clean showers and a barbecue restaurant on site. But make no mistake, our site was a s**thole. They're nice folks who can do much better.

The park was easy to find with good access. Signage was fair. Check in was quick, efficient and informative. The name suggests something more upscale. It is not. The interior roads were rough. Our site, 41, was a back in but, since the spot behind us was vacant, we were able to drive in. The site was hard packed gravel with a small concrete patio, table and fire ring and a lot of weeds instead of grass. The utilities, 50 and 30 amp power, water and sewer were to the left side and all worked well. There is no cable but we picked up many OTA channels. Wifi worked fairly good.
The site was filthy. We raked up garbage and picked up tons of cigarette butts. The campground is filled with mostly permanent residents who don’t clean up after their dogs. There is a small laundromat on site, open 24 hours. The only thing this park really has going for it is location, (access to St. Louis and it’s attractions is great) and there is an onsite BBQ restaurant. The aroma smelled wonderful but we did not have an opportunity to taste.
We paid a weekly rate of $245.00. There is no Good Sam discount for a weekly rate. We don’t think the park is worth it. If we are in the area again we will probably look for something nicer.
