“Enjoy sustainable produce”
Mountain Farm is a sustainable, 24-acre lavender, blueberry and dairy goat farm in the Appalachian mountains of Western North Carolina. Our small herd, hormone and antibiotic-free, includes registered Saanen and Nubian goats. Their fresh milk is collected each morning and then goes into the handcrafted soap, body products, and aged cheeses we make right here on the farm. A variety of heavenly lavender blooms from June to September. It’s soothing fragrance can be found in nearly all of our artisanal bath and spa products. We harvest lavender for our culinary line of herbs, salt, honey, vinegar, and more! Lavender bushes also creates a natural border for Mountain Farm’s meditation labyrinth. Mountain Farm is open to the public on the first Saturday of each month and for special events several times a year. We participate in the semi-annual TRAC Studio Tours in June and December, as well as the ASAP Family Farm Tours in late September. We may also be open occasionally for other special events. Please refer to our Events & Blog sections of this website. When open, you can introduce yourself to our friendly animals. Mountain Farm is an interactive, working farm! Please remember, Mountain Farm is not a petting zoo. In 2012 Mountain Farm became the smallest Certified Dairy in North Carolina. We introduced our unique line of aged goat cheeses and became a member of the newly-established Western North Carolina Cheese Trail. We look forward to sharing tastings with our visitors during our scheduled openings. When available, we offer these cheeses for sale in our farm shop. From May through October you can rent Blueberry Cottage, our romantic cabin on a private piece of land across the road from our farm. This is the perfect spot to plan a unique and natural wedding or just a quiet weekend getaway.
