“enhancing the understanding of contemporary&modern art”
The Albright-Knox Art Gallery is dedicated to enhancing the understanding and appreciation of contemporary and modern art. As a hub of artistic and cultural energies, it strives to be an inspiring educational resource for all audiences. Founded officially in December 1862, The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy—the governing body of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery—is among the country's oldest public arts institutions in the United States. Since its inception as The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy in 1862, the Gallery has been dedicated to acquiring, exhibiting, and preserving modern and contemporary art, with a particular emphasis on the collection, presentation, and interpretation of the artistic expressions of our times.
Buffalo's oldest and best art museum by far. They have a good mixture of classic and modern art. The huge Jackson Pollack piece they have is one of my favorites.
