Take time to go into the screened-in porch to watch the apple butter bubbling in open 50 gallon copper kettles over a wood fire. You may observe, first hand, the delicious ripe fruits cooking into their irresistible products. They cook in small batches and use home-canning jars. Beautifully built , this 1912 42-inch rack and cloth cider mill is a fascinating machine. This is one of the largest cider presses in the state of Ohio and is capable of pressing 450 gallons per hour. The pump that runs the press is dated 1867. They no longer run this press on a regular basis.
