Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on August 10, 2022Overnight parking is permitted. I pulled in here on 23 May in my 1992 Ford E250 Van.
I utilized one of the picnic tables & fixed a hot breakfast. Restrooms are clean, stocked, flush toilets, & HOT water. There is no place to fill a 1 gallon or larger water jug. Stripes are painted on the asphalt for cars & on the eastern side of the rest area stripes are painted for RV's, 5th Wheelers, Class A's, etc on the west side. Some shade is available depending on the time of day.

Absolutely beautiful and spacious rest area and information center. I personally pulled in just after dark on a Monday night and had a perfect night sleep in my car and went on my way hiking all day. When I came back to this rest area on Tuesday night I assumed I would get another great night sleep. I was wrong…
Mind you too, the fog was so thick on this particular morning that I could not make out if the figure telling me to leave the rest area at 7:30am, when it’s totally legal to be there, was a female Security Guard, OHP Officer, Park Ranger, or a City of Bookings Police Officer. Either way, and in her infinite non self centered wisdom, she thought it best I drive in the fog along the 101 that was so thick you could barely see 5 feet in front of you instead of resting at a rest area?
Again, this rest area is so large it could hold the population of Oregons residents that live in the area between Grants Pass, Gold Beach, and Bookings, but it’s smarter for me to leave? Seriously?

Great large rest area. There is a dump there so I took a shower, ate lunch and dumped my tanks before I left. 4 hour maximum stay posted!! It was being monitored when I was there.
It is across Hwy 101 from Harris Beach State Park

A place to park; can fit all big-rigs, just don't stay longer than posted 4h limit between 6pm-6am. The patrol came by 7pm and 9pm to check when I was there. Don't forget to drive across the street for the state park, incredible!
Signal not great.
