Oregon Redwoods Trail - Barrier Free

The Oregon Redwoods Trail, which travels along the Peavine Ridge in the Winchuck River drainage, provides a unique barrier free day use hiking/wheelchair opportunity (having a wide travel way, acceptable grades and crushed aggregate tread surfacing) through a grove of majestic old-growth redwood trees. Interpretive opportunities will include old growth trees/ecology, fire history, wildlife viewing, and botany. Redwood trees found on the Chetco Ranger District represent the only coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) found in the Pacific Northwest Region, located at the limit of their northern range. The trail is an out/back design with a short loop at the far end, where a picnic stop is provided. A short wooden deck provides access to the inside of a hollowed redwood tree. Nearby camping opportunities include the Ludlum House Recreation Area and the Winchuck Campground. Facilities at the trailhead include barrier free parking, picnic tables, fire rings, toilets, and trash collection.

Oh man this place is amazing!! Simce it isnt as popular there is a good chance you will have it to yourself. If you do enjoy the silence of the giant trees :) its magical!
