“abandoned arms factory”
This place is on private property. Listing for informational purposes only. Please do not visit without express permission from the land owner. This old decaying amunition plant is believed to be haunted by ghosts and the supernatural. Until the 1980's it was used by the Remington Arms Gun Manufacturers, then they sold all the East Side Complex to subsequent owners. It was finally entirely abandoned (no where on site was being used) in 2007, though many of the buildings had been out of order for awhile. It has caught on fire from 2008 - 2010 multiple times. In 2009 the Travel Channel's show 'Ghost Adventures' did a segment there because of such belief of haunting, ghost sightings, terrible noises, and odd occurrences that happen at the abandoned industrial factory. It is now owned by Peter DiNardo Enterprises Inc. and has already had some parts of the plant demolished. He would like to restore the Historic Shot Tower. A number of houses on Arctic, Barnum, and Helen Street are also abandoned and boarded up.
What a pity that REMINGTON ARMS is gone.Gone along with it numerous jobs and taxation for the state and the CITY OF BRIDGEPORT.Another eyesore on our horizon. Why did this go the way it did? This joins other blighted dwellings of the city.
