Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on July 20, 2022Late May visit. Off season rates. Our site was perfect for our 26 ft. class C camping car with W/E/Cable/Table/Fire Ring. We choose Shady Knoll based on it's close proximity to the Cape Cod Rail Trail and were not disappointed. It is a short distance on local roads to reach the trail and only about 5 miles to the state park with lots of other trails. Reception was efficient and pleasant and campfire wood is available at a reasonable price. There are plenty of seasonal campers, but ample room for other RVs both big and small and tents too! The sties are separated by some trees and not just lined up in a row. Since we are self-contained, we did not use the restrooms and showers, but they looked very nice and clean. The location is close to the village so you can easily walk (or bike) to a small market and local eateries should you choose. There is a room with lots of information about area attractions and local events which was quite handy. There is a playground area for little ones. There is no pool, but you are only about a mile from the beach.

Small, well managed campground. Here in the off season. Friendly folks. Family owned for 40 years, next generation taking over. They have kept it up to date. Easy to get to bike trails and not too far from beaches.

Been to the camp a number of times and knew the area. This was our first camping adventure. We selected the Campground because it is close to the National Seashore, Bay beaches and the bike trail. Granted, you'll have to drive to those locations but it was only 5 - 10 minutes. The campground was kept clean and our site backed up to the town land that surrounds the CG, was fairly level and had vegetation between adjoining sites. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and functional. Plenty of instant hot water. On the negative, the roads in the CG were a bit tight and may be a problem for larger rigs. although I did see a few 30+ we had no problem with our 22 ft trailer. Access to the dump station could be tricky, Over all I will return to this campground in the future.

This is a very nice medium size campground that is located middle/upper Cape. Not far to the national seashore and many activities and beaches. Nicely shaded sides with good privacy. Some on the lower side of the campground can get wet in rainy weather. One of the few places that can take larger motorhomes and trailers so you will almost certainly need a reservation during any season. Not all sites have sewer but they do have pumpout service. I wouldn't call it big rig friendly but we got our 35 foot Class A in and out, limiting factor is the narrow roads. Campground staff is very friendly and helpful.

We checked in at another campground in the area and it was so awful (to us anyway) that we decided to not stay.
We began to look for other accommodations and decided to drive here before wasting more money.
This place wowed us. Everything about it is sweet.
I would say to ask about proximity to the entrance and easier sites if you have a big rig, the roads are kind of rough, but that contributes to the country feel here. Just beautiful. All I hear are birds.

I don’t give 5 stars out to just anybody. We are full time travelers and this place is awesome. We only stayed one night passing through to cape cod, but we would have stayed longer if we knew how nice it was going to be.
There are quite a few setups that look like long term campers, but the campground is clean! Bathrooms clean and smell good! Laundry is newer speedqueens! Showers were clean and hot hot hot!
The site map and Photos make the campground look not so private, but the vegetation makes them private.
Nice clean and sturdy wood picnic table and the fire ring has a nice grill.
Dump station is well maintained. Fresh and flush water is available by the dump.
Their general store has quite a bit, including firewood. Fires are to be out by 11pm which creeps up fast after the sun goes down, but honestly by 10pm the campground is silent.
Campground also offers a good sam discount.

Raoul told me there is only 30 amps for four sites to share despite being a 30amp site. He was not happy that I had tripped the breaker for the second time on our stay and if it happened again, He said I would have to go to the office and they would have to decide if they would let us still have electricity. Raoul told me that our camper tripped three other sites off. We have a Victron system with a current limiter set to 30amps, while our rig's 30amp breaker, and the 30amp breaker at the pedestal all did not trip. I reduced our current limiter to 26 amps to prevent tripping anything again. Shortly after posting this info to Campendium, Dan came by to help. Really nice guy who wanted to help, but short of digging up and laying a new cable, there was not much he could do. I learned from him that our 30A pedestal is connected only by cable for 30A, instead of a higher capacity. He said others are not connected to our branch. So either Raoul or Dan was misinformed. Back to the solution, it would be better practice to use thicker cable that can carry 40 amps and have a 40amp breaker at the main to allow for overhead, while leaving a 30 amp breaker at the pedestal. I was seeing voltage around 106, using 3054 watts which is 28.8 amps when it tripped. In the morning hours, voltage would be around 123. If they were supplying 123 volts when I was using 3054 watts, the amperage would have dropped to 24.8. Insufficient cabling can definitely contribute to voltage drop.
They can't tell time well here. Went to buy ice 10 minutes before closing and told they would not sell it. Went to bathhouse 15 minutes before the posted closing time and was given grief being told, "This is closed, I guess you just don't care what the sign says."
Using the dump on the way out is wildly inconvenient. I had to do a k turn in an intersection in the campground with my rig to get to it.
The roads are too narrow! Getting into many sites is TIGHT!
Wifi from the park is limited to maybe 5-6 down.
We will not be back.
