“Home of Brutus the Bear and friends!”
Welcome to Montana Grizzly Encounter; a Grizzly Bear Rescue & Education Sanctuary in Bozeman, Montana. Founded in 2004, it provides a spacious and natural home for rescued grizzlies. At the same time it provides a place where the public can come and learn about grizzly bears as they watch the majestic animals “up close” in a beautiful mountain setting.
First off, dogs are welcome... Great for those of us that travel with dogs! I could have spent hours here... But the kids weren't patient enough to sit and observe long enough. The Bears were lively and seemed happy. Great stop along our way.

First off, it's pet friendly for those of you traveling with fur babies! They have super cute and friendly goats in a pen near the entrance. The Bears were cute and lively. Souvenir shop also very nice. Great stop along our way and well worth if for the small entrance fee!
Dogs are allowed! Its a most if you are going to camp in bear country. Learned a lot about bears and how to deal with them. If its black fight back and if its brown lay down
The Bears had great personalities and were fun to watch. We'd go again.
Must stop! They have different bears at different times of the day. No food, but definitely a great stopping point for us and our 18 month old during our trip from ND to OR. Seeing Grizzlies running is pretty cool. They seem happy there.
Loved this! My favorite stop on our road trip so far! We got to see Bella and she was awesome. Very playful!
Called in one morning, they only have one bear out at a time. When the staff member finally came out, it was handy to get some information as we were heading to Alaska to see bears as well. Would have been nice to see more bears and if the place was a bit bigger and more organized.
My 12 year old was so excited to see a grizzly bear! This is a small place, but worth the $20 it cost for the three of us to come learn about bears, and watch Bella explore her surroundings looking for treats the caretakers hid for her. Cute little gift shop was reasonably priced. Made up for not seeing any bears on the rest of our roadtrip through Montana and Yellowstone ;) Allow 45 min for a visit.
You get to see only one bear at a time.
