“a delightful stay is assured”
Boyertown is a small town. In fact, it is just ½ square mile in size. We are nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Oley Valley, and within an hour of historic Valley Forge, Philadelphia and the Amish country of Lancaster County. Boyertown has been recognized by the state of Pennsylvania for the number of hours our folks give back to the community and The Main Street Program. Prime examples are “Bear Stadium”, “The Farmers Market”, the “Bear Fever Bears”, community activities by Building A Better Boyertown on third Saturdays, Holiday Open House Tour and the many family oriented functions that occur at our community park. We are a walking town with quaint shopping. There is “Joe Paws”, a bakery for dogs and “Patsy’s Potpourri”, which sells only American made jewelry and gifts. Further down the avenue we have “Gracefully Framed”, a wonderful gift and framing shop. There is also “Studio B”, an art studio; “Clayote”, a pottery studio; and “Taylor Backes”, a renowned glass blowing studio. Before returning to the Inn, you can also enjoy a great cup of coffee with entertainment at “The Hard Bean Café”. Other must-sees are the “Boyertown Historic Vehicle Museum” and the “Boyertown Historical Society” which features Boyertown’s native son, Four-Star General Carl A. Spaatz. Boyertown is a neat town. We may be small but we have a huge heart. Am I bragging? You bet! I am very proud to serve this community. Twin Turrets has quite a history. It's a little known fact that the house was actually built for Daniel B Boyer circa 1865. On July 4, 1876 the Boyers went to where else, but Philadelphia, to celebrate Independence Day. Apparently at that time, turrets were becoming the fashion, thus by 1880 the Boyers added a front porch along with copper turrets. In 1891 Daniel B's family of five children was grown so Daniel B traded homes with his son Horace K, who lived at 9 E Philadelphia Avenue. In 1988 The Twin Turrets was restored to the rich heritage it deserved.
