“A beautiful place for healing”

Sunshine Mine operating season is May 1st through October 31st. Mine visits only can be made by reservation during the rest of the year. Temperature can vary greatly during this time so warm clothing is necessary for both the mine and outdoors.  We are located between Helena, Montana and Butte, Montana off of Interstate 15. Specifically, Sunshine Mine lies in a beautiful 30 acre property called Galena Gulch, near the Boulder River. We are surrounded by one million acres of national forest. Wildlife is abundant. A small stream runs through our property and we have a pond. Weekly Cookouts and BBQ potluck with the other guests is a main feature that guests enjoy. These are held in a rustic beautiful setting in the meadow. Sunshine is generally known to be the radon mine in the most attractive setting. We hope you will come to visit, even if you do not choose to stay here. We welcome first time guests for free tours.  Pets may also benefit from mine visits free of charge when accompanied by a mine guest. Alls pet must be leashed and when in mine be in the waterfall room. Cleanup after your pet is expected.  Massage therapy and creative workshops & nutritional consultations are available by appointment. Sunshine Mine has a gift gallery featuring “Made in Montana” art and crafts. A fun place to visit.  We want you to know that Sunshine Health Mine is regularly tested for radon gas emissions and meets the European standards for effective treatment.

The Sunshine Mine doesn’t just help humans, it also allows pets to take advantage of the radioactive therapies, totally free of charge! And you may have heard rumors from the owner and staff of another area uranium mine that the Sunshine Mine isn’t as effective. Well, that’s just hogwash, according to Sunshine Mine, which “truly regrets this tactic as all area business owners are feeling the effects of a troubled economy.”

I had a very unusual and unique experience here. The service is great and the staff are very friendly and approachable. I love their massage therapy service. It was so relaxing. Thumbs up! I wish I can go here again this year.

Sunshine Mine
Boulder, MT
*Travel professionals/long term renters stay away from this property*
I recently stayed at the Sunshine Mine while on a work assignment. Options are very limited in the Boulder, MT area; therefore, rental housing can be expensive or consist of a longer commute. I chose this long term rental after discovering it online, and scarce housing options being available. Normally, I wouldn’t have chosen a cabin to reside in, but housing options were minimal. This also was a short commute to my place of employment. This is definitely not the ideal housing choice for long term use. Initially when I arrived to the unit, it was very outdated and unclean. It appeared as if no one had been living in the unit/cabin for a long period of time, but the owner claimed she rented out all of the units frequently to travel professionals. The owner’s assistant (Melanie) stated certain things would be removed/replaced, the space would be cleaned properly, and a basic setup including toiletries would be provided. All presented were false promises given. Upon arrival nothing was as we previously discussed. I didn’t even have a roll of toilet tissue. Gratefully, I seen the owner’s husband outside whom went to get me a roll from his house. The bed linen and shower curtain was stained heavily. The flooring of the unit, the kitchen sink, the refrigerator, and bathroom were filthy. I wasn’t given a key to the unit either. I was told it was lost, and I should be safe even if the door is unlocked. I contacted Shellie (the owner) the next morning explaining what had occurred. Out of desperation for housing and her guarantee to correct all of my issues I decided to stay. I wished I would’ve left as I initially plan, but I’m a firm believer of giving people a second chance. After staying in the unit for over a month I decided it was no longer a good housing choice for me. I contacted the owner and her assistant multiple times via phone, email, and text concerning my early departure/refund of my deposit but my request was ignored/denied. I informed them of me leaving due to personal issues a week in advance. An improper exit/departure of the unit was performed and I never received my deposit/extra monies paid towards my account. I repeatedly contacted both parties but was ignored.

This business lacks professional and has poor customer service/communication. They play the part/role to lure you in, but are nothing as they appear to be. Yes, rental housing options are very limited in the Boulder area, but I would say pay a few more dollars to stay elsewhere or make a longer commute to your job. Traveling to an unfamiliar area is already a great concern, your housing shouldn’t be especially when paying a lot of money to stay in the unit.

Please go elsewhere!
