“many important architectural works”
Copley Square is a public square located in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, named for for the donor of the land on which it was developed. A bronze statue of Copley, by sculptor Lewis Cohen, is located on the northern side of the square. The name Copley Square is frequently applied to the larger area extending approximately two blocks east and west along Boylston Street, Huntington
In my mind, this marks the center of Boston. You're close to historic Back Bay, it's opposite the Boston Public Library, and you're only a short distance from Commonwealth Ave which will take you right down to the commons (the park). If you're looking to get off on the T (the public transportation in Boston) and need a stop, you'll be set up at Copley Square. Nice assortment of food and drink around the area too though it's more grab-and-go.
