“camping, fishing & picnicking”
Muskingum River State Park offers facilities along the Muskingum River in Muskingum, Morgan & Washington counties. The Muskingum River Parkway features the only remaining system of historic hand-operated locks in the U.S. The ten historic locks, operated by lock tenders the same as when they were built in 1841, are a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The parkway provides 86 miles of navigable river from Ellis Lock #11, south of Dresden in Muskingum County, to Devola Lock #2, just north of Marietta.
