Jenny Jump State Forest is a state park in the U.S. state of New Jersey operated by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Parks and Forestry. It is located in northern Warren County in the northwestern section of New Jersey, on the high, long Jenny Jump Mountain ridge. The park has extensive hiking trails on the mountainside, featuring large glacial boulders and outcroppings from the Wisconsin glaciation approximately 21,000 years ago. It is said that the park was named after an Indian chasing a girl named Jenny, who jumped to her death on Jenny Jump Mountain.

This campground is right off I 80, but offers a quiet forest experience. Like most New Jersey state parks there are no hookups. We were a walk up and turned out to be the only ones in the campground that night! It’s a small campground. Most sites, if not all, were shaded. Some were walk in sites for tents. Several of the RV sites had steep drives up to the level camping area. The road through the campground is steep and fairly rough getting to sites 26 - 36. We asked for a fairly level site near the bathhouse and it was perfect for us. The bathrooms were clean with composting toilets and one big shower. There are several hikes right from the campground. We had a nice hike from near site 18/19 that lead to a beautiful overlook.

Nice experience camping 4 days at Jenny Jump. Sites are mostly for tent camping; a few can fit trailers, but not many and not as many as listed on the website. Site 26 was good for our 26’ trailer, but we had first tried site 18 which was impossible for anything but a pop up camper. Some sites have steep twisting driveways. Don’t bring anything much longer - for some sites you will need to turn around and there’s only one spot to do so and its tight.
Bathrooms are OK. They are cleaned each morning. Showers are there, but offer little privacy and seemed quite old.
On the weekend, neighbors were loud but quieted down after 10pm. During the week it was peaceful and serene. Nice hiking nearby with scenic overlooks. Fishing at Ghost Lake is fun for kids.
