“Store and Museum”
Come in and wander down memory lane. Now, as always, you will find a warm welcome and thousands of items reminiscent of the past. Authentic calicos, handmade sun bonnets, Amish hats, ironstone dinnerware, crockery, scented lamp oil just to mention a few. The counters are jammed with a myriad of items, hand-carved figurines, jewelry, glassware, towels and toys.Tourists from all over the world have visited the Thomas Bros. Country Store. You’ll also find many local people too, especially during “prom season”. In addition to the many trinkets, the Country Store is known for its great selection of evening gowns. And even more surprising are the beautiful bridal gowns that can also be found at the store.
This place was really cool and *packed* full of old, odd stuff. Not everything's for sale though and it can be hard to tell what's "merchandise" and what's "museum". If you've got the time it's worth a peek for sure though!
Just an FYI, there are NO public bathrooms for customers here - they'll direct you down the street a block to the public library. Parking was plentiful and free on the street when I visited (9-26-14, Friday ~3pm-ish?).
