“Points of Interest in Bedford, PA”
The Coffee Pot in Bedford, Pennsylvania is an example of novelty architecture. The lunch stand was built in the shape of a coffee pot by David Koontz in 1927. It was threatened with demolition in the 1990s, but in 2004 was moved across the street and restored. Although it no longer serves coffee, why not stop and take a picture with it?
There isn't too much to see here but, as an excitable coffee fan, I couldn't help but stop.
Because this was just a quick hop off of our main route, we decided to stop and take a few quick photos. It was relatively easy to find and provided a great background for photos. Plus, it's a giant pot of coffee, and who doesn't love that?!?
We used Google Earth to find this before actually going there, so we knew where it was. A good photo stop just to get out of the car for a few minutes.
Very cute, and one of the highlights of the town. It's well kept but there's one one around to ask about it and you cannot go into it. Has a mysterious upper door to nothing.
great stop and photo op. at fairgrounds entrance where pitt st crosses under 220 coming from downtown bedford pa. pass the signs for 30
Awesome! Easy to find - used the comments and gps to go straight to fairgrounds.
Could not find this and decided not to waste time trying. Stopped in Bedford downtown and had some yummy coffee though. Bedford is a really cute area and looks like it has a lot to explore for a couple or family looking for a relaxed weekend near the countryside.
Fun quick photo op! Got a little lost on the way! It's right in front of Bedford fairgrounds - ( had to ask a local!)
It now sits on land owned by the Bedford Fair Grounds. It was also a bar in the early '70's. It's a neat little building. been in it a few times back in the day. :)
Great photo op place to jump out for a minute and stretch your legs
