“Beaufort's Castle”
Construction began on this Greek Revival mansion in 1859, and its owner, Dr. Joseph Johnson, moved in during August of 1861. Designed as a replica of an English mansion, it was the last home built in Beaufort before the Union invaded. Today, it's privately owned.
