Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on December 05, 2021While passing through Kentucky and Virginia in early December, we needed a place to stop for an overnight. The campgrounds I found were all closed for the season and it was getting dark. I found this place using Google Maps and it worked wonderfully for an overnight stay. It is a Welcome Center/Rest Area so it's not super quiet. But it's right off of I77 and they allow overnight stays, no time cap that we are aware of. We arrived around 6:30 pm and left the next day around 9 am. They have about 10 spaces for parking RVs. All are pull through making it easy to park and leave. There are restrooms, trash bins, and snacks available for use. Plenty of grassy area for our dog to take care of business.
Only downside is the truck noise, overnight many trucks were parked and idling but it works great for an overnight.
Note: we were there during the week (Wednesday night), when we arrived at 6:30 we were the first ones, as the evening went on the other spaces were filled in with semis. If you were to arrive late you may have trouble finding a spot.
We would stay again if needed.

Virginia Rocky Gap Southbound SRA
Great place to overnight! There is a separate section for semis but a few did park on the RV side. Fortunately they either didn’t run generators or they were too far away from me. Nice picnic area. There is a restroom but I didn’t go in. I did go in the visitor center in the morning and thanked them for allowing people to overnight in a safe clean space.
