Maplecroft Bed & Breakfast is a grand 1887 Victorian home built by Scottish immigrant and prominent Vermonter George Mackie, and features a circular tower, carved wood trim, high ceilings and period furnishings. Lovingly renovated, George Mackie's "Scottish Castle" is the perfect place from which to enjoy all that Barre-Montpelier and Central Vermont have to offer. Owned and operated by innkeepers Dan Jones and Yasunari Ishii, who both speak Japanese, Maplecroft B&B offers three well-appointed guestrooms and two comfortable suites, all with private baths and TV's. The largest suite, located over the carriage house with a private entrance, has a full kitchen and living/dining area—making it perfect for longer term stays. Guests feel at home at Maplecroft Bed & Breakfast and enjoy meeting our gentle West Highland White Terrier, Barney. We serve a full hot breakfast in our comfortable dining room and invite you to relax in the parlor by the fireplace, play board games, read or play the grand piano.
