Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on October 20, 2023We arrived on a Tuesday late in September and the Old Orchard area was sparsely camped. There are four distinct camping areas in the park. Old Orchard is the only full hook-up area with 49 sites. Sites are paved and there is a bathroom/shower house with a small laundry. Moxley Branch, Four Coves and Lakeview camping areas have a total of 225 sites with about half electric and the other half are non-electric. There are six cabins located near Lakeview campground, an outdoor swimming pool with bathhouse and snack bar. There are many hiking trails within the park accessible from the campgrounds. Great free wifi in the Old Orchard area, but no Verizon service.

it baffles me how others rate this CG as 5-star. It’s dirty, worn out and difficult to get to down a narrow windy road. Only good thing I can say about it is the staff is very friendly. Folks, please raise your standards and give high ratings where they are truely deserved.

Came from NC to see how WV fall colors compare, moving on disappointed. Overall Huntington, WV feels old and tired; people are mostly friendly, and there is litter/trash everywhere.
Beech Fork campgrounds are set off the path so it’s quiet (mostly). The main full hookup area is a parking lot. The other camp areas are spacious sites (50’ across) but only have elec or elec/water. The grounds are maintained, wildlife
Pass thru frequently (leaving their markers). The facilities are sparse at best but do the job (the Moxley facilities are toilets and sinks only, no hot water).
When empty it’s really peaceful and relaxing; you can take leisure walks/hikes on the grounds. Once the families with guitars, kids on elec scooters, golf carts show up all that peace and quiet is gone.
The road into the park is narrow and winding, which helps keep traffic slow but might be tenuous for bigger rigs.
