October 29th, 2020: RVer report confirms 13 earlier reports from Sept 2008 thru Mar 2018, & info provided by BLM. Overnight RV Parking is allowed. This former Nevada DOT Rest Area is now administered by BLM; it re-opened in about 2018, following a complete remodeling project. The main camping area has 10 campsites (some are pull-thru & some are back-in), with picnic tables, trash receptacles, interpretive kiosks and displays, pit toilets, concrete walkways, pond-accessible trails, fishing deck, hiking and biking trail, and equestrian trailhead. Pond Campground Loop has 6 campsites, with sheltered picnic tables, vault toilets, interpretive displays and a trailhead area. Post stocked with trout; fishing license requirements, if any, unknown. The Upper Trailhead/Campground (designed to accommodate equestrian trail users) offers has 4 campsites, vault toilets, interpretive displays and a trailhead area . No hookups at any campsites here; no dump station, no potable water. Entire area is great for stargazing. RVers report no broadcast TV; no Verizon service; one bar AT&T signal. Open all year.
