Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 31, 2019Kinda in the middle of nowhere, BUT really peaceful. Beautiful clear creek & river. Kids loved it!!
It was about 20 minutes from HWY65, but is was so worth it the drive.
This is a very large campground and has many large sites and a beautiful creek winding through it. Many spots you can access the creek to swim or fish, or even just have a picnic.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The nearest city was 15 minutes away - Atmore. You can find pretty much anything you want in Atmore.
Our suggestion would be to try an take a look at the campsites rather than letting them assign you one - there are many beautiful ones, but they also have smaller sites that would be a bit crowded if they were full.
We would have stayed longer except the internet was iffy at best.
Loved this campground!

Stayed on site 50 between lots of trees. Was totally accessible, friendly staff (Nikki was very pleasant - Indian folk weren't very chatty but smiled and nodded ! What a beautiful place.
We didn't kayak or canoe in their creek but looked lovely. They're still building and making more improvements and upgrades. Everything was nice and clean and were building a brand new shower facility when we were there. All paved, big rig friendly. Our only dislike was that we had NO CELL / Wifi at lot 50, but folks down closer to the playground said they had cell and wifi. We rode bicycles to the playground / pavillions to reach out to family on our cells and catch up on emails, etc.
