This property has burned to the ground
The Grammar School opened in 1909 and functioned well. During the 1950's kids would go across the street to the local drive-in for soda pop. As the surrounding area in Atlanta grew, the school eventually began to decline. Finally it closed in 1995. Two years after the closure, it was bought by a group who were to turn it into the John B. Gordon Lofts. This never came to pass and the property was foreclosed in 2009. The uncertain future of this former school lingers on today.
